Watch your language
Recently I've been striving to learn bits and bobs of any and all of the many languages one comes across in Oxford. I've noticed other people I meet are doing this too. Today the expression "it's a small world" may be more pertinent than ever before, and in Oxford (which is a small town) representatives of much of the world can be found.
Communication is about community and I suppose vice versa. In this brave new world community, to communicate we need to step outside of our own familiar words and themes. As a world citizen and speaker of the current 'lingua franca' (English, not French), it's important to broaden your horizons, so watch your language innit.
